In this role, you'll report directly to the Head of Customer Experience. As a Senior Account Manager, you will own the client relationships, be accountable for account growth and revenue, and deliver value-driven strategies.

What does the role look like?

You'll join Whop as an Account Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Customer Experience. Your role involves overseeing a portfolio of 10-20 client accounts, each varying in size and scope. Your primary KPI is to drive $2 million in annual GMV across these accounts, reviewed quarterly. To aid you in meeting this goal, you'll have an annual budget of $xx,000, the support of a dedicated engineer, and cutting-edge internal dashboards for actionable insights. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, enriching your role as not just a manager but a strategic partner to both your clients and Whop.

As an Account Manager at Whop, you're not just overseeing accounts—you're establishing long-term, consultative partnerships. Using Whop’s business dashboard, you will analyze KPIs like churn rates, conversion rate, and other growth metrics to gain an in-depth understanding of each client's business health. Your role goes far beyond monitoring; you will proactively engage with clients to discuss strategies for improving these metrics. You'll work on customizing their store pages for better user experience and conversions, collaborate on crafting targeted marketing campaigns, and advise on product bundling or tiering to enhance revenue. Additionally, you'll use your insider knowledge of Whop’s development pipeline to give your clients a competitive edge, offering them early access to beta features that align with their business goals.

Your role is multi-dimensional and integrates tightly with both our product and sales teams. You are not confined to 'maintenance mode' with clients; instead, you become an advocate for their needs within Whop. For example, you'll collect client feedback on design mockups and feature proposals, and channel these insights directly to our product team to influence our roadmap. You'll also be involved in the client handoff process from the sales team, ensuring a seamless transition and setting the stage for a successful, long-term relationship. During product launches or updates, you'll coordinate with the marketing team to ensure your clients are well-informed and positioned to take full advantage of new features. In summary, you act as the key liaison that funnels customer insights, concerns, and suggestions back into Whop, helping us continually evolve and better serve our clients.

Your first 90 days will look like the following:

  • Within 30 days, your understanding of Whop's platform will be second to none. You'll adeptly navigate our business dashboard and answer any setup or technical questions clients might have. You will begin your Whop journey by managing at least two clients.

  • Within 60 days, you'll have conducted a comprehensive review of each of your client accounts and laid down 6-month-plus roadmaps. By this point, a rapport will be established with all your clients, and you’ll manage a minimum of 10 accounts.

  • Within 90 days, your strategic implementation will bear fruit, achieving at least 10% of your annual GMV target. By now, you're in the groove and achieving steady progress towards your goals.

Who you are:

Your role at Whop is not just about management—it's about becoming a trusted advisor to your clients. You excel in this because of your incredible adaptability; you can rapidly get up to speed in new industries and build lasting relationships. It's your perceptive eye for trends and keen understanding of client needs that make you indispensable to both clients and colleagues alike.

You're not just analytically gifted; you're a strategist at heart. You thrive on planning and implementing solutions that drive success for your clients. Within Whop, you're the go-to person for all things client-related. You're not just managing accounts; you're shaping Whop's offerings based on client feedback. This puts you at the intersection of our customer service, sales, and product teams, making you a key player in our organization's growth.

Your skill set goes beyond analytical prowess and great planning—you're also highly competitive and relentless in your problem-solving. Whether it's navigating complex data to inform your next move or managing a tricky client situation, you adapt and find a way to succeed. And it's not just about meeting the immediate needs; you're also focused on the long-term picture, ensuring that the solutions you propose align with our clients' strategic objectives as well as Whop's overall vision.

Your colleagues describe you as deeply trustworthy and dependable—someone they can count on when the stakes are high. Your clients feel the same way, viewing you as more than just an account manager; to them, you're a vital part of their business success. You can handle pressure well and even thrive under it, bringing a winning attitude to every situation. Lastly, you're a lifelong learner. Whether it's staying updated on industry shifts, understanding emerging technologies, or acquiring new skills to better serve your clients, you're always looking for ways to grow professionally. That's what makes you not just a good account manager but a great one.

Qualifications:

You have at least 5 years of experience in account management, ideally within a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Your background isn't just about years clocked but about value delivered; you've not only retained clients but also grown their accounts significantly, reflecting your skill in nurturing and expanding business relationships.

Familiarity with our target verticals—such as Entrepreneurship, Travel, Engineering & Development, Trading, E-commerce, Sports betting, and Social Media Marketing—is more than just a bonus; it's a gateway to quick onboarding and immediate impact. You're not just aware of these industries; you understand their nuances, challenges, and opportunities, positioning you to hit the ground running.

Your technological aptitude extends beyond the average user level. You're proficient in tools like Linear, Airtable, and Notion, and you can easily navigate through software platforms relevant to account management and customer relationship building. It's not just about knowing the tools but about using them to distill complex data into actionable insights that inform strategy.

Your analytical and strategic thinking skills are above par; you're the sort of person who can dissect a problem and come up with multiple approaches to solve it. You're both a thinker and a doer, capable of turning client feedback into organizational change and strategic initiatives. Most importantly, you're fiercely competitive. For you, it's not just about doing the job; it's about winning. You're someone who hates to lose more than you love to win, and that's the kind of drive and passion we're eager to bring into Whop. Your competitive spirit isn't just individual; you're a team player who raises the bar for everyone around you.

Your previous experience should also demonstrate an ability to function in a rapidly scaling business, juggling multiple priorities while maintaining top-notch performance. You bring a winner’s mentality to a winning team, and you're excited to apply that ethos to drive Whop’s growth further.
